Have you ever read Psalm 8 and felt a little uneasy at the question: “What is man that you are mindful of him?” I know some people hear those words and immediately think of God as a stern judge—watching for the moment we slip up. But what if we’re hearing it the wrong way? When the psalmist says God is “mindful” of us, it’s not about scrutiny—it’s about care. Even when we forget Him, He remembers. Even when we wander, He keeps us in mind. He knows who we are. That truth runs through the whole story of Scripture: God never stops loving, redeeming, and rescuing His people. And the final, clearest answer to that question—Who are we?—comes in Jesus. He taught us to pray, “Our Father.” We’re God’s children, deeply known and never forgotten. God has His eye on you. Always.
