We often think of freedom as the ability to do whatever we want. But when you follow Jesus, freedom takes on a completely different meaning. It’s not a license to live for ourselves—it’s the power to live for others. The Apostle Paul put it this way: “You were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” That’s a radical shift. Freedom in Christ means we’re released from the grip of sin so we can step into a life of love, service, and responsibility. Maxie Dunnam recently wrote about this kind of “responsible freedom” and why it could transform not only our personal lives but the communities around us. I hope it encourages you—and challenges you—to see freedom in Christ in a fresh way.
