This month, we’re exploring three powerful fruits of the Spirit – patience, kindness, and goodness. Today, we’re starting with patience, something we all need but often find challenging, especially on those days when everything seems to test us. Kim Reisman shared a story in this week’s devotional that you might find familiar: a teacher faced with a chaotic day, restless children, and one little boy whose boots just wouldn’t fit! As we laugh and sympathize with her struggle, we also get a glimpse of what it means to have patience in our everyday lives. But beyond just surviving tough days, what if we could learn to cultivate the kind of patience God shows us? In the Scriptures, we see a beautiful image of God as the Shepherd who never gives up, always patient and steadfast in love. As you read, I hope you’ll find encouragement and maybe even a fresh perspective on those moments when patience seems in short supply. Take a moment to reflect, and maybe consider what it is that tests your patience the most. Why do these situations get to us? And how can we draw closer to that perfect patience God has with each of us?
